SaveOnPet is run by the couple behind @catpowercouple — and by Zorro, Dina and MJ, who have opinions about everything we sell.
It started the way most things in our apartment start: with a cat doing something ridiculous, and one of us reaching for a phone.
We are Robin and Younos, and we post our three cats online as @catpowercouple. Zorro is the orange one who behaves like he pays rent. Dina is the tabby, unimpressed by most things, mother to MJ. And MJ — white, absurdly fluffy, blue-eyed — was born right here in our living room, which is roughly when a hobby turned into a household.
The comments changed everything. Not the ones about the cats, the ones about the stuff. Where's that brush from. What fountain is that. Does the nail clipper with the light actually work. We were answering the same questions every week, and every honest answer came with a caveat: we love this thing, but you should not have to pay $60 for it.
Because we had been buying pet gear for three cats for years, and we knew what was in the boxes. The same feeders and combs and beds, leaving the same factories, arriving under five different brand names at five very different prices. So we did the unglamorous thing: went to the makers directly, worked out what the products actually cost, and put them up at a price we would be comfortable recommending to a friend.
Everything here has been through our apartment first. If Zorro won't chase it, if Dina walks away from it, if it can't survive MJ, it doesn't make the shortlist. That's a small catalog on purpose.
Zorro, Dina and MJ get everything before you do. Plenty of promising products have been rejected by a cat walking away from them.
We would rather sell seven things we actually use than seven hundred we have never touched. If it is here, we can tell you how it holds up.
If your pet isn't delighted, we'll make it right — no fuss, no fine print. See our happy-pet guarantee.
Honest prices aren't a gimmick — they're the whole business model. Here's exactly where the savings come from:
The result: the same quality you would find behind a premium label, routinely 25–40% less. That is not a sale price. That is just our price.
If you want to see the products in action before you buy, they turn up constantly on @catpowercouple — usually with a cat refusing to cooperate.
